King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched, on Wednesday, 8 May 2024, the “Laboratory Medicine Conference,” in the presence of experts and researchers from health practitioners and health specialties students, at the University’s Natural and Health Sciences Research Center. The conference includes 9 hours of continuing medical education, accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, and a package of scientific sessions aimed at enhancing healthcare personnel skills, raising awareness of laboratory quality levels and standards, and exchanging views and information related to pathology, medical laboratories, and related specialties, in pursuit of providing distinguished healthcare services. Over two days, the conference discusses quality management methods in medical laboratories, the most prominent challenges and difficulties in diagnosing hemoglobin disorders and diseases, factors affecting the quality of medical test results, and the latest developments in diagnostic microbiology, flow cytometry technology, and the clinical assays system. This comes within the efforts of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital to contribute to achieving Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic objectives by elevating health, educational, and research performance; embedding quality in practices and procedures; and achieving the highest levels of healthcare—making the hospital a model among local university hospitals in healthcare, education, and research.
