The Scientific Council at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Vice-Rectorate for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research launched today, Thursday, 11 September 2025, the First Saudi Forum for Scientific Councils, titled “Scientific Councils: From Reality to Contemporary Challenges,” held at the University’s Conference and Events Center. The forum aims to analyze the current state of scientific councils in universities, explore future developments, examine challenges and opportunities for enhancing performance, showcase successful experiences, support governance, and empower women leaders in scientific councils. It also seeks to build communication networks between universities and academic, governmental, and private entities. Sessions feature university leaders, research institutions, academics, and experts, discussing subjects such as: “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence”, “Governance of Scientific Councils”, “The Status of Fellowship and Residency Programs: Opportunities and Challenges”, and “Scientific Councils and Vision 2030”. Specialized workshops led by experts cover topics including: distinguished scientific publishing, research chairs, AI-driven data mining, the establishment and sustainability of scientific societies, and the journey from research to publication. The forum includes an exhibition showcasing the roles and services of scientific councils in research, academic publishing, and faculty promotion, alongside individual advisory sessions for faculty to address inquiries and provide tailored guidance. The launch of the First Saudi Forum for Scientific Councils aligns with Princess Nourah University’s 2025 strategic goals to enhance research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, achieve distinguished academic publishing, and support research driven by national development needs.
