The College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University organized the First Annual Excellence Ceremony for the Artificial Intelligence Center on Thursday, May 8, 2025, celebrating the center’s outstanding achievements and initiatives during the academic year 1446 AH, at the college’s premises. The ceremony opened with a speech by Dr. Manal Al-Ouhali, Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, in which she expressed her pride in the center’s accomplishments since its establishment. She emphasized the college’s commitment to supporting all its research and technical centers in achieving the highest standards of excellence, enhancing competitiveness, and contributing to the development of future skills and academic and research activities that serve the community. Dr. Shrooq Ali Alsenan, Director of the AI Center, presented the center’s key achievements over the past year, including research initiatives, applied projects, partnerships with industry stakeholders, and community-driven programs that reflect the center’s pioneering role in supporting digital transformation and innovation. The event concluded with a recognition ceremony honoring research groups, active members, and leaders of specialized research tracks at the center, in appreciation of their efforts and contributions to advancing the center’s mission and achieving its strategic goals. The AI Center currently includes several research groups that have made notable scientific contributions, as well as teams engaged in community outreach through initiatives aimed at promoting technological knowledge and raising awareness of the importance of artificial intelligence. This first annual ceremony reflects the college’s commitment to fostering academic and research excellence, supporting a culture of innovation and creativity, and contributing to the realization of Princess Nourah University’s 2025 strategic plan, which aims to strengthen the ecosystem of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and to build a sustainable knowledge-based society.
