30 Apr 2025

The College of Designs and Arts at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched today, Wednesday, 30 April 2025, the “Wakan” exhibition, showcasing outstanding projects by first-year students from the Interior Design Department for the first semester of the academic year 1446 AH, as part of the “Residential Studio” course, at the College premises. The two-day exhibition presents innovative design projects by more than (30) students, reflecting their creative skills and demonstrating their ability to produce handmade models and architectural drawings that embody residential design concepts through the application of acquired theoretical knowledge in design. The exhibition aims to emphasize the importance of practical application of theoretical concepts, develop students’ analytical and critical thinking skills, and enhance their ability to solve design problems creatively. It also seeks to strengthen visual and architectural expression skills and transform abstract concepts into tangible design solutions based on drawing principles and spatial treatments, contributing to the preparation of qualified professionals in the design field capable of effectively and professionally engaging with societal and environmental transformations. The exhibition provides a space for interaction and communication between students and professionals interested in the field, contributing to the exchange of expertise, inspiration of ideas, and linking students with labor market needs and professional realities in interior design. The “Wakan” exhibition aligns with the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025, contributing to the preparation of competitive competencies, supporting students by providing a stimulating educational environment that fosters creativity, culture, arts, innovation, and lifelong learning, and supporting women’s leadership in the development journey.
