Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and the Environmental Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a joint research project agreement, in the presence of Her Excellency the President of the University, Dr. Enas bint Sulaiman Al-Issa, and the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Fund, Mr. Munir bin Fahd Al-Sahli, today, Thursday, 24 April 2025, at the University premises. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to support innovation in the fields of environment and meteorology and enhance related scientific studies, as part of the joint efforts of both parties to contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative. The MoU includes several areas of cooperation, most notably encouraging and activating environmental protection plans in the Kingdom, supporting environmental and meteorological sectors, stimulating innovations and inventions in environmentally friendly technologies and practices, enhancing community contributions to raise environmental awareness, and cooperating in organizing workshops, seminars, scientific forums, conferences, providing scientific consultations, and conducting academic peer review of research. Regarding the joint research project agreement, which focuses on delivering scientific outputs that contribute to environmental protection and support in the Kingdom, Princess Nourah University was represented in the signing by the Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries, Dr. Maali bint Ibrahim Al-Abdulhafith, while the Environmental Fund was represented by its Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Munir bin Fahd Al-Sahli. The visit included a field tour of the Natural and Health Sciences Research Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to review its facilities and laboratories, in addition to visiting the accompanying “Environmental Research and Studies Exhibition.” This collaboration reflects the shared objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and the Environmental Fund in integrating national efforts to enhance environmental sustainability through research, development, and innovation.
