The Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University is organizing the first edition of the Model United Nations (MUN) Simulation Conference from April 17–19, 2025, with the participation of more than 130 students from Riyadh universities and high schools. The event will be held at the University’s Conference and Seminar Center. The conference aims to empower participants by developing research, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, as well as public speaking and critical thinking. It also enhances conceptual understanding of international decision-making mechanisms and provides valuable insights into global affairs. The conference discusses various topics through simulated UN committees, including five committees addressing global issues such as humanitarian crises and conflicts within the framework of the UN Security Council (UNSC). Other committees include: The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), focusing on the management of medical materials under international regulations, The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), exploring innovative pathways for sustainable consumption and production, The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), addressing human rights protection and promotion, and The Arab League Committee, highlighting the importance of preserving Arab heritage. The MUN simulation allows students to represent delegates from different countries, discuss global issues, and propose solutions based on each country’s policies and positions. The conference aligns with the Deanship of Student Affairs’ role in achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah University’s 2025 Strategic Plan, aiming to promote excellence in education and learning, create an environment supportive of innovation, develop 21st-century skills, and strengthen intellectual and societal influence by building bridges with local and global communities.
