Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries Organizes a Panel Discussion on “Arabic Manuscripts”

The Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University organized a panel discussion titled “Arabic Manuscripts” on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, coinciding with the International Arabic Manuscript Day, with the participation of a group of academics specializing in manuscripts and documents from Saudi universities. The discussion aimed to highlight the importance and beauty of historical manuscripts, methods of preservation using modern technology, with the attendance of specialists and interested community members. The session covered the significance of Arabic historical manuscripts, their artistic aesthetics, their knowledge value, preservation techniques using modern technology, and the maintenance of cultural heritage, including the most important digital restoration and preservation methods. The International Arabic Manuscript Day, observed annually on April 4, provides an opportunity to revive cultural heritage and raise awareness of the importance of preserving manuscripts as an integral part of Arab and Islamic identity. This panel discussion supports the 2025 Strategic Plan of Princess Nourah University by producing competitive outcomes, highlighting the cultural and knowledge value of Arabic manuscripts, enhancing academic and professional skills, and contributing to the building of a knowledge-based future society.
