The Central Library at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University won the “Research and Professional Excellence Award” from the Saudi Library and Information Association in its inaugural edition, in the category of “Best Entity in the Field of Libraries and Information.” The award recognizes and honors distinguished professionals in the field and encourages scientific research and innovation in the sector. The library’s victory came through the Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries’ submission of a detailed report on the library’s achievements during 2024, highlighting its role in supporting education, providing diverse information resources, and serving the academic and local community. Dr. Badriya Al-Busairi, Vice Dean of Libraries, stated: “The participation of the Central Library in the award aims to highlight Princess Nourah University’s efforts in supporting education and research, providing access to information resources, promoting knowledge and culture among community members, and enhancing the university and library’s standing among academic institutions.” The award’s inaugural edition featured four main tracks: Best Entity in Libraries and Information, Best Employee in Libraries and Information, Best PhD Thesis, and Best Master’s Thesis in the field. The Central Library’s participation aligns with Princess Nourah University’s 2025 strategic plan by enhancing academic and professional reputation, developing human capital, strengthening research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and contributing to national development.
