Her Excellency Dr. Enas bint Suleiman Al-Eisa, President of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, participated on Monday, 10 March 2025, in the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the UN headquarters in New York, with the participation of global leaders, decision-makers, and international experts. Saudi Arabia’s chairmanship coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action, evaluating progress over the past five years (2019–2024) via national reports from member states, and issuing new political declarations and priorities to strengthen global commitment to women’s empowerment. During a side event panel, the university president highlighted the growing status of Saudi women, reviewing the qualitative transformations in the Kingdom, including women’s roles before and after Vision 2030, education, empowerment across sectors, and contributions to development. She emphasized Saudi Arabia’s experience as a global model inspiring other countries to enhance women’s leadership and participation, and establishing women as international partners in development and gender equality. She also showcased Princess Nourah University as a leading platform for academic, research, and professional empowerment of women, emphasizing that investment in knowledge and skills is essential to enhance women’s participation in the labor market, innovation, and future leadership. The CSW is a technical commission under the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) dedicated to policymaking for gender equality and women’s empowerment. Its annual March session serves as a global platform for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders to exchange insights and develop strategies supporting women worldwide.
