The Department of Sports Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched the “Ramadan Championship – Season One 2025” on Sunday evening, 9 March 2025, with the participation of approximately 130 students and 10 competing teams at the university’s Student Sports Club. The championship, which lasts for five days and includes students from both inside and outside the university, aims to promote physical activity, enhance competitive spirit among students, and provide an opportunity to showcase skills in various sports while encouraging a healthy lifestyle and raising awareness of the importance of sports for health and fitness. Season One of the Ramadan Championship features six competitive sports, divided into individual sports, table tennis, athletics, tennis, and judo, and team sports, volleyball and softball. Students compete in a knockout system for all sports except volleyball, which follows a round-robin system. Ms. Ahlam Al-Omari, Director of the Department of Sports Affairs, stated: “Season One of the Ramadan Championship reflects the university’s commitment to promoting university sports and empowering female students athletically, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.” The championship is part of the university’s strategic plan for 2025, aiming to provide a competitive environment that supports talent development, athletic excellence, and skill enhancement, preparing student-athletes to represent the university in local and international competitions.
