On February 25, 2025, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University celebrated “Founding Day,” which is observed annually on February 22. The celebration included a series of events organized by the university’s agencies, deanships, and colleges, reflecting pride in the Kingdom’s deep-rooted heritage since its establishment three centuries ago, and promoting national identity, pride, and belonging. Within the university campus, the celebrations featured a ceremony organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, with participation from all university staff, including multiple artistic displays highlighting the cultural and historical heritage of wedding traditions across various regions of the Kingdom. The main artistic piece, titled “Our Joy from the Day We Began Between an Ancient Past and a Noble Present,” captured these traditions. Accompanying the ceremony was an exhibition titled “Founding Day… An Inherited Legacy Extended Through Creativity,” which showcased artistic glimpses of authentic Saudi heritage. In addition, a student art exhibition named “Najnaj” featured creative works by students from university clubs, highlighting the diverse historical heritage of the Kingdom and illustrating traditional Saudi bridal attire, jewelry, and ceremonial rituals from different regions. The Deanship of Student Affairs also dedicated a special pavilion within the accompanying exhibition to display projects by university students from the “Kasb” program, which the deanship supervises. This initiative aims to empower students and graduates to launch entrepreneurial projects, promoting their role in development efforts and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. University colleges participated in the Founding Day celebrations by setting up independent booths and launching cultural competitions to introduce the authentic culture and history of the Kingdom, document the achievements of early leaders, and strengthen national unity among community members. The University Media and Knowledge Influence Department prepared and produced various educational media content and published it across the university’s digital channels to highlight the occasion. These activities are part of Princess Nourah University’s efforts to demonstrate the historical and civilizational depth of the Kingdom, honor those who contributed to serving the nation, and achieve the objectives of the University Strategic Plan 2025, which focuses on enhancing students’ skills in innovation and creativity through extracurricular activities.
