The Noura Health Program, under the Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, hosted a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) for a two-day campus visit. The visit aimed to support the renewal of the University’s accreditation as a health-promoting university under the Healthy Cities Program. The delegation reviewed the campus infrastructure, including colleges, centers, and King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz University Hospital, evaluating environmental sustainability, health-promoting standards, and the quality of health programs and preventive initiatives. They also assessed initiatives supporting students’ well-being, including psychological and social support, physical activity, nutrition, and skills development. Ms. Iman Al-Omr, Director of the Noura Health Program, noted: “The visit supports the University’s strategic path in health and well-being, reinforcing its role as a health-promoting educational institution.” Princess Nourah University received WHO accreditation as the first health-promoting university in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world in June 2021. WHO health-promoting university standards include 101 criteria across six main tracks: general, campus environment, healthy lifestyle promotion, health improvement, safety and emergency preparedness, and community engagement and sustainability.
