Conclusion of the “Science in Service of Society and the Environment” Conference at Princess Nourah University

The College of Science and the Saudi Association for Applied Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University concluded the “Science in Service of Society and the Environment” conference on Monday, February 3, 2025, under the patronage of University President Dr. Inas bint Suleiman Al-Eisa. The conference addressed developments in applied sciences, community service, and collaboration among academics, researchers, and industry experts at the University’s Conference and Seminar Center. It focused on eight main themes: applied and industrial sciences, chemistry, biology, nanomaterials and environmental applications, physics in energy and sustainable environment, mathematics and statistics in biological and technical fields, the role of women in science-driven development, and the contribution of civil associations to environmental service. The two-day conference included five scientific sessions, three panel discussions, 22 specialized workshops, an exhibition of over 60 scientific posters, and dedicated pavilions for sponsors and academic institutions. The conference recognized the first graduates of the Master of Science in Energy and Innovation program, in partnership with Swansea University, UK, and featured two cooperation agreements with Net Zero Environmental Services and the Charitable Endowment Association to implement digital greening and student support initiatives. Conference outcomes included recommendations, future action plans, and calls for further collaborative efforts to achieve sustainable development goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
