Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University received the Excellence Award in Energy Consumption Improvement with a score of 100% on the performance card, granted by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center, during the ceremony honoring outstanding government entities for energy efficiency improvement for the year 2022. The award recognizes the University’s efforts in adopting innovative and sustainable practices to preserve the environment and improve energy consumption across the campus, through initiatives such as installing high-efficiency LED lighting systems, improving ventilation and cooling systems, installing motion sensors for outdoor lighting, and utilizing renewable energy sources such as solar power. The award is categorized into three levels: the first includes entities achieving 100% compliance with energy savings; the second includes entities achieving 85% or higher compliance with energy savings; and the third includes entities achieving 85% compliance without achieving energy savings. This achievement aligns with the University’s 2025 strategic objectives to promote environmental sustainability, ensure efficient and sustainable campus operations, and build a university environment that supports health and well-being.
