Students from the College of Business Administration at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University achieved eighth place in the 24th edition of the “Inter-College and University Environmental Public Speaking Competition,” organized by the Emirates Environmental Group in Dubai. The participating students—Aljawhara Al-Huqail, Manar Al-Jubairi, Maram Al-Qahtani, Noura Al-Masaar, and Munira Al-Otaibi—secured this advanced position for their participation in the competition’s third topic, “Harmonious Communities: The Path to Climate Awareness,” amid competition from 24 teams. Their speech addressed carbon emissions and their impacts, the pursuit of net-zero goals, the role of countries in building harmonious communities to reduce harmful emissions, innovative solutions, and the importance of climate awareness in achieving sustainable development goals. The Director of Student Services at the College, Ms. Somaya Dakhakhni, noted that participation in such competitions provides students with opportunities for learning, skill development, and direct interaction with diverse cultures, contributing to broader perspectives and enhanced outcomes. The Environmental Public Speaking Competition is held annually, featuring four key topics addressing global environmental challenges and opportunities: “Green Innovation: Visions for Tomorrow’s Cities,” “Eco-Journeys: Planning for Sustainable Tourism,” “Harmonious Communities: The Path to Climate Awareness,” and “Preserving Ocean Balance: Understanding Planetary Security.” The College of Business Administration’s participation aligns with the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025, by strengthening connections with local and global communities, enhancing knowledge and societal impact, supporting the leadership role of its students, and empowering their participation in regional and international forums.
