Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University achieved 89th place globally and sixth locally in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Sciences Ranking 2025 (THE Interdisciplinary Sciences Ranking 2025), which measures universities’ contributions to and commitment toward interdisciplinary sciences. The ranking included 749 universities worldwide, including 21 Saudi universities. The university achieved this position following its first participation in the ranking, whose methodology is based on three indicators representing stages in the life cycle of research projects: “Inputs,” reflecting funding; “Process,” covering success metrics, facilities, administrative support, and promotions; and “Outputs,” representing publications, research quality, and reputation. This achievement reflects the notable development of scientific research at Princess Nourah University through providing a stimulating educational and research environment, funding research, encouraging high-quality research outputs, and activating research strategies aligned with national priorities. These efforts have contributed to enhancing the university’s standing in internationally recognized rankings and attracting the attention of international students and academics to its distinguished role in education and research. It is worth noting that Princess Nourah University applied for THE Interdisciplinary Sciences Ranking 2025 in line with its direction to achieve the objectives of its Strategic Plan 2025 in excellence and leadership, and to reaffirm its national role in supporting Saudi Vision 2030, which aims for Saudi universities to achieve advanced global positions, including placing five Saudi universities among the world’s top 200 universities.
