Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University achieved progress locally in seven academic disciplines in the 2024 Shanghai Subject Ranking (Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects). The University was also the only Saudi university included in the ranking in the field of Medical Technology. The University ranked third locally in several disciplines, namely: Dentistry and Oral Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Veterinary Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences. It also ranked fourth locally in Energy Science and Engineering, and Chemistry. The ranking (GRAS) evaluates global universities by academic subjects based on a set of academic indicators and external data to measure performance in the relevant disciplines, including: research output (Q1), research impact (CNCI), international collaboration (IC), and research quality (Top). The international academic awards indicator is based on the Academic Excellence Survey (AES) conducted by the Shanghai Ranking since 2017 through March 2022. It is noteworthy that Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University submitted to the Shanghai Subject Ranking 2024 in alignment with the University’s direction to achieve the objectives of its Strategic Plan 2025 in excellence and leadership, and in affirmation of its national role in contributing to Saudi Vision 2030, which aims for Saudi universities to attain advanced positions in global rankings and for five Saudi universities to be among the world’s top 200.
