The College of Designs and Arts at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University organized today, Monday, 18 November 2024, the “Banan Edition” Exhibition to highlight projects by third-level students in the Visual Arts Department, at the college premises. Students showcased the skills they acquired in creating sculpture molds and producing casts from them, through approximately 45 works. The exhibition included cast replicas of previously executed models, with sizes ranging from 10 to 30 cm. These were produced using both simple and complex mold-making techniques. The molds were made using silicone and plaster, while the casting materials varied between resin, plaster, cement, and wax. It is noteworthy that the exhibition title was chosen in honor and appreciation of last year’s course instructor, Ms. Banan Al-Qahtani (may she rest in peace), in recognition of her efforts throughout her professional journey in teaching students in the Visual Arts Department. The exhibition comes as part of the College of Designs and Arts’ contribution to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025 by preparing competitive competencies for the labor market through providing an educational environment that stimulates creativity and fosters a spirit of learning, research, and innovation among students.
