News highlights
The Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched the “Because You Are Responsible” campaign on Wednesday, 16 October 2024, to raise awareness about reducing food waste, ensuring food safety, and encouraging the University community to adopt healthy consumption patterns, in conjunction with World Food Day. The campaign included a field workshop and a series of lectures focusing on improving behaviors related to food waste, from shopping and food storage to the disposal of surplus food. Awareness messages were also disseminated through the University’s internal channels, highlighting the importance of reducing food waste and improving consumption habits. The campaign also featured a lecture in collaboration with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority to highlight the importance of efficient use of natural resources—particularly food—and the negative impacts of wasteful behavior. These efforts align with Princess Nourah University’s Strategic Plan 2025 and the National Program to Reduce Food Loss and Waste in Saudi Arabia, promoting effective and efficient use of natural resources through food recycling and sustainability initiatives.
