Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University was crowned first place in the Saudi Universities and Colleges Performance Index for the 14th sports season (female students’ division), during the launch ceremony of the 15th sports season of the Saudi University Sports Federation, held at the Ministry of Education headquarters. The University participated with 87 students across 10 sports, namely: futsal, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, karate, athletics, athletics for students with disabilities, chess, e-sports, and basketball. The University secured first place in: futsal, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, athletics, and chess, while achieving second place in: athletics for students with disabilities and e-sports, and third place in basketball. Ms. Ahlam bint Abdullah Al-Omari, Director of the Sports Affairs Administration at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, affirmed that this achievement strengthens the University’s position as one of the leading educational institutions in the sports field, and that winning multiple competitive championships reflects the University’s continued excellence and commitment to developing students’ athletic skills. She stated: “We work according to a comprehensive strategy aimed at discovering and refining athletic talents and developing sports performance to achieve advanced positions at local and international forums.” The Performance Index included the evaluation of Saudi universities across five main areas: local competitions, hosting, competitive internal sports activity, physical and recreational activity, and capacity development. It is noteworthy that Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University achieved first place in the Saudi universities’ Performance Index for the previous two cycles. This comes within the framework of its Strategic Plan 2025, which seeks to create a motivating sports environment and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 targets to increase participation in physical and sports activities in the Kingdom.
