Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University celebrated the 94th Saudi National Day on Thursday, September 26, 2024, through a series of events organized by the University’s agencies, deanships, and colleges, commemorating the unification of the Kingdom by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and strengthening feelings of pride and the values of belonging and loyalty among the University’s affiliates toward the الوطن and its wise leadership. Celebrations across the campus varied in form. The Deanship of Student Affairs organized a ceremony for University affiliates featuring multiple artistic performances titled: “Hasten to Glory and Supremacy,” “May Your Pride Endure,” “Loftiness,” “My Country,” “The Dearest Homeland,” and “The Flag,” each delivering messages of pride and honor in the Kingdom’s history, present, and achievements realized within the journey of Saudi Vision 2030 toward a bright future. The ceremony also included the performance of the Saudi Ardah by a group of students to highlight the Kingdom’s popular heritage and national identity pride, in addition to an accompanying exhibition titled “A Homeland That Lives in Hearts,” with the participation of various University centers and colleges. The Deanship sought to invest this national occasion to showcase students’ talents and creativity, launching a package of competitions in diverse artistic fields, including a fine arts competition, best video competition, best poem competition, best photograph competition, and best congratulatory text to the homeland competition. The University’s colleges and centers also activated the Saudi National Day 94 commemoration within their facilities through various booths and displays about different aspects of the Kingdom, offering Saudi hospitality and souvenir giveaways to attendees. The Sports Affairs Administration at the University also revived the memory of national unification through a set of sports activities aimed at enhancing national spirit. Meanwhile, the Vice Deanship for Library Affairs held a discussion session to highlight historical facts about the Kingdom and their reflections on national unity and belonging values. The University’s Media and Knowledge Impact Administration interacted by preparing and producing a package of media and knowledge materials and publishing them via the University’s digital channels. This celebration comes within efforts of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and its national role in raising awareness of the importance of preserving national unity, and as a contribution to achieving the University’s Strategic Plan 2025, which aims to provide a campus environment that strengthens students’ skills in innovation and creativity through extracurricular activities.
