The College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University achieved third place at the Middle East and Central Asia level in the Distinguished Projects Category of the “Seeds for the Future” Competition, held in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The competition featured the participation of more than 25 teams, comprising approximately 150 competitors from 14 countries. The College’s achievement came through the participation of the Saudi team, which included student Atheer Al-Ayyadhi from the College of Computer and Information Sciences, who presented the project “Nabeeh.” The project is an innovative artificial intelligence system serving the healthcare and insurance sectors, aiming to address the global shortage of family physicians and improve care for patients with chronic and genetic diseases. The project operates by analyzing family medical history and lifestyle data, linking an individual’s family history with unified healthcare systems without the need for medical testing, while considering other influencing factors and predicting the likelihood of chronic and genetic diseases using artificial intelligence technologies. The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, Dr. Manal bint Abdullah Al-Awhali, stated that the College consistently supports participation in local and international forums to discover and encourage national talents, resulting in multiple excellence awards and top rankings through active participation by distinguished faculty members and students. The competition falls under the “Seeds for the Future” Program, which aims to develop local talents, enhance knowledge transfer, and stimulate interest in the information and communications technology sector. The Distinguished Projects Category highlights innovative ideas that offer effective solutions to current technological challenges, with projects evaluated based on innovation, social impact, and feasibility. The College’s participation contributes to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025 by strengthening the research, innovation, and entrepreneurship ecosystem, enhancing competitiveness in education and employment, and equipping students with 21st-century skills.
