The Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University female esports team achieved second and third places in the Community Tournament of the Esports World Cup, within the “Valor” tournaments aimed at supporting and developing female players and empowering them in the esports field, held from 17 to 19 August 2024. Players Najlaa Al-Sharif, Rafal Al-Hazani, Rahaf Al-Mutairi, Shahd Al-Mutairi, Al-Jawhara Al-Zayed, and Dana Al-Shafie secured second place in the game “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III,” while student Atheer Al-Sharif won third place in the game “Tekken 8.” Participation in the tournament aimed to develop students’ teamwork and individual control skills, encourage them to gain competitive experience combining academic and athletic excellence, increase their future competition opportunities, and enhance the university’s position as a leading educational and sports environment. In the same context, the Sports Affairs Department organized a summer camp for esports and mental sports, which continued until 15 August and attracted 130 female students who participated in daily challenges and games, contributing to achieving advanced results in the tournament. This initiative aligns with the Sports Affairs Department’s efforts to achieve Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic objectives by activating quality partnerships, providing a university environment focused on developing students’ athletic capabilities, and enhancing skills and knowledge through leading sports programs.
