By the end of the previous academic year, the Documents and Archives Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University cataloged up to 2 million university documents, both paper-based and electronic, through its work in historically documenting the University’s regulations, bylaws, plans, and programs. This is within the Center’s strategy to achieve effective management of the University’s documents and archives in accordance with local archival procedures and international standards. The Center published 31 “document awareness” cards on a weekly basis, and implemented more than 20 training workshops, benefiting more than 400 trainees from University affiliates and archival students. The Center strengthened its presence during the academic year by receiving visitors from a number of universities across the Kingdom to review the Center’s experience in cataloging, collecting, and archiving documents. It also contributed to raising awareness of the importance of documents and archives activities by activating coinciding international days, accompanied by a package of activities, such as holding the workshop “Document Awareness in the Arab World” in conjunction with the International Day of the Arab Document. It is noted that the Documents and Archives Center is responsible for cataloging all documents and archives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, raising document awareness, and coordinating and cooperating with the National Center for Documents and Archives. The Center also includes a collection of official documents that reflect the development of the University over the years, through its supervision of the work of archiving committees in all University entities. This comes within the Center’s efforts to contribute to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic plan by enhancing institutional efficiency and managing the University’s documents and archives in a way that ensures fast access to information and reference to it when needed, and meeting the informational needs of the University’s administrative units.
