College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: 6 Accredited Academic Programs and 13 Local and International Awards

As the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University continues to equip its affiliates with knowledge, values, and skills and to enable them to achieve the highest standards of professional and scientific competence in the health sciences field, the College concluded the previous academic year with six full and conditional program accreditations and 13 awards for its faculty members and students in various local and international forums and competitions. The Bachelor’s program in Clinical Nutrition, the Bachelor’s program in Epidemiology Sciences, and the Bachelor’s program in Health Education obtained full program accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation. Meanwhile, the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) bachelor’s program, the bachelor’s program in Occupational Therapy, and the bachelor’s program in Clinical Psychology obtained conditional program accreditation. During the previous academic year, the College’s students and affiliates achieved a series of awards and advanced rankings in several competitions and forums. Occupational Therapy students won first place for Best Scientific Poster at the college level during the First Health Research Summit. Clinical Psychology students achieved second place, and Health Education students achieved third place for Best Presentation at the college level at the same summit. The College also recorded second place in the floor volleyball tournament and third place in the squash tournament within the University Cup Championship 2024. Female faculty members contributed to the College’s achievements by innovating a “Rehabilitation Device for Lower-Limb Amputees,” which won the silver award at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva and the bronze award at the 14th Middle East International Invention Exhibition. The “Sensory Car Seat” invention won the gold award at the European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation, in addition to the Excellence in Innovation Award from the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization in Romania, and the silver medal at the Korea International Women’s Inventions Exposition (KIWIE). Achievements also included receiving the Best Research Paper Award at the ISRC 2023 Conference, the UAE “Next Mastermind” Award in excellence in mental health research, and second place at the Stroke Conference for participation with a scientific poster titled: “Maximum Allowed Daily Dose of Therapeutic Ankle Exercises Using Mirror Movement Therapy After Stroke: An Early-Phase Dose-Finding Study.” It is noted that the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University offers diverse academic programs with specialized tracks. It grants a bachelor’s degree in 13 majors across four main academic departments: the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, the Department of Radiological Sciences, the Department of Health Communication Sciences, and the Department of Health Sciences. It also grants a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. The College seeks to open more postgraduate programs in specialized fields and to introduce sub-specializations.
