College of Computer and Information Sciences: 11 Achievements and 93 Qualitative Programs in Technical Education

As part of strengthening its roles in the technological empowerment of women—toward enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional and global hub in technology and innovation—the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University delivered more than 103 specialized programs, initiatives, events, and workshops during the previous academic year. The College worked to achieve multiple accomplishments in the technology and entrepreneurship sector in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, most notably graduating the first cohort in the majors of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity, and organizing the exhibition and competition for bachelor’s graduation projects for female students in computer and technical majors across colleges of computer sciences in Saudi universities (She Codes 2024), in its second edition. The College also witnessed the افتتاح of the specialized Apple Lab for graduation projects, equipped with the latest Apple devices and software, the opening of a Huawei Smart Classroom, and the activation of the X-FACTOR Innovation Journey project, affirming the University’s commitment to providing smart learning requirements through an interactive motivational environment that keeps pace with the latest technological developments, supports students’ talents, and encourages creativity and innovation. The initiatives, events, workshops, and lectures implemented by the College varied in their fields, aiming to empower women in technology, enhance digital knowledge awareness, educate female students on key developments in computer and information sciences, and develop their capabilities in creative thinking and solving various technical problems, thereby preparing them effectively for the labor market. The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, Dr. Manal bint Abdullah Al-Owehli, affirmed that these achievements are the result of the combined efforts of the College’s members, with ongoing support from the University in providing a quality-standard educational environment in line with the foundations of its strategic plan, to achieve competitive outcomes and a technologically innovative community. Dr. Al-Owehli noted that the College has taken into account the requirements of the growing and rapidly evolving labor market by developing many technical programs and courses, through signing agreements and partnerships with international and local entities, contributing to development. It is noted that computer and information sciences specialties play a pivotal role in driving technological progress worldwide and meeting society’s evolving needs in the digital era by graduating qualified cadres in computer science, spreading technical awareness, and enhancing entrepreneurship. They also constitute leading research centers that contribute to developing new technologies and innovative solutions. This comes within the College of Computer and Information Sciences’ commitment to contributing to achieving Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic plan objectives by developing academic programs and providing distinguished educational services that contribute to graduating outstanding human competencies with high skills for the changing labor market, participating in developing digital infrastructure, and enhancing the Kingdom’s creative economy outputs.
