Brief
Vidan Fathi Ghoneim is an Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University. Her specialty is in the area of medical data analysis and bioinformatics since her PhD was entitled " Data preprocessing in cDNA microarrays ". Assistant Professor Vidan received her B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Systems and Biomedical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Giza, Egypt in 2000, 2006 and 2011 respectively. She joined the Biomedical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Misr University for Science and Technology as a Teaching Assistant from 2002 to 2011, and Assistant Professor from 2011 to 2015. Then she joined the Biomedical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University as an Assistant Professor from 2015 to present.
During her career, she taught many courses in the area of computer science and biomedical engineering at Helwan University, Misr University for Science and Technology, Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport, Information Technology Institute (ITI) and Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, Saudi Arabia.
The research interests of Associate Professor Vidan include Bioinformatics, Digital Signal Processing, and Pattern Recognition.
