Brief
I am Dr. Amal Fahmy Dawood, a dedicated educator and researcher with a PhD in Physiology from Cairo University (2012) and over 20 years of experience. My career began as a Nuclear Medicine resident from 1998 to 2002, during which I earned my Master’s degree in Nuclear Medicine. I then transitioned to academia as an Assistant Professor of Physiology and have progressed to my current role as an Associate Professor.
My primary research focuses on identifying new biomarkers for the early detection of diabetic complications, as well as exploring potential drugs outside the traditional antidiabetic categories that may protect against or delay these complications. Additionally, I have served as Principal Investigator for numerous projects focused on diabetes research, with over 15 years of experience in basic, clinical, and applied science research.
