Brief

Since employed in Pharmacology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Minia University (1995), Prof. Azza El-Sheikh acquired almost 30 years experience in teaching medical, dental & nursing students. A 4-year scholarship was awarded to her by the Egyptian Ministry of High Education to get her PhD in Pharmacology from Radboud University Nimegen, the Netherlands. During postdoctoral period, she contributed in writing her department's Pharmacology handouts, supervised 8 master & PhD students, and became associate editor of her Faculty's scientific journal (MJMR; 2014-2016). She was the Minia Focal Point of RDI, that promotes EU research funding program opportunities (eg: FP7 & HORIZON2020) (2012-2017). She was also the director of Minia Grant and International Cooperation office (GICO; funded by a grant from the Egyptian Academy of Science and Technology; 2013-2017). In addition, she was an elected board member in the Egyptian Society of Pharmacology and Experimental therapeutics (2016-2017). In addition, she received 2 international research grants from Saudi Arabia (2013 and 2017), for both of which she was the Co-PI. She has more than 40 international peer-reviewed scientific publications and chapters in 2 international books. Starting from January 2017 till present, she worked at the Basic Health Sciences Department, College of Medicine, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where she attained several positions as the head of Faculty development unit, head of continuous self education office, head of promotion committee, head of friends of quality committee, and head of subject experts committee. She also participated in quality accreditation, and received several awards and grants.

Current positions
