Within the activities of the first conference of the Arabian Gulf region in industrial engineering and operations management at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz University, the two students, Noha bint Nasser Al-Oud, in Industrial Engineering and Systems Department, and Reem bint Ahmed Asiri, in Electrical Engineering- Telecommunications Department. As the two students qualified to the finals of the simulation contest. In addition, the student, Yara bint Ali Al-Ghamdi, Electrical Engineering – Electronics Department, was also honored as the marketing ambassador for the contest. As well as Dr. Kawther Mohammed Ghasham and Ms. Mariam Ali Al-Asmari from Industrial Engineering Department were honored by giving them (Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award) as Consultants to the Branch of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM). Furthermore, the Dean of College of Engineering, Dr. Areej bint Abbas Malibari was honored for her participation in the organization of the conference (IEOM Woman in Industry and Academia Award).
The conference aims to provide a forum for academics, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and recent developments in the field of industrial engineering and operations management, in addition to enabling researchers of all categories to participate with their scientific papers in full or a brief summary. The conference was designed within the framework of the three dimensions of the visions of the GCC States under the slogan: "Social, Economic and Technological Development".
The conference included a number of sessions and seminars on many issues including industry and manufacturing, transport and logistics (Supply Chain), operations management (Operations Research and achieving Optimization), energy and water, sustainability and environment (social, environmental, sustainability issues and their solutions), innovation and entrepreneurship.
It is worth noting that the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management International Organization (IEOM) in the United States of America is a non-profit organization that organizes scientific conferences around the world, and it has already organized scientific conferences in this area in more than 19 cities around the world.
