A group of internship doctors at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University received the second position on the scientific poster "Factors affecting Irregularity in Screening Diabetic Retinopathy among Saudi Adults", among 72 participating scientific posters, following their participation in the Fifth Red Sea Ophthalmology Symposium, which was organized by the Saudi Ophthalmological Society and the National Guard Hospital.
Four students from College of Medicine collaborated in executing the poster, they are: Manal Al Wazei, Atheer Al Humood, Atheer Al Mutairi and Al Hanouf Al Humaidan, under the supervision and participation of Dr. Hala Al Murshidi and Dr. Fadwa Al Adel, who explained in a statement that the Fifth International Red Sea Ophthalmology Symposium is considered one of the most prominent Ophthalmology symposiums in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. As it aims to forecast the future and benefit from applied medical specialties in the field of ophthalmology and opticianry. In addition to presenting research developments and creating common platform among health bodies inside and outside the Kingdom to achieve knowledge exchange and explore experiences related to the future of ophthalmic services in order to achieve Kingdom's Vision 2030 with respect to this sector.
It is noteworthy that this participation came to achieve the goal sought by Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to support and develop the research capabilities of the students according to sound foundations in various disciplines.
