College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Wins Three Gold and Silver Medals at the “DIS Expo Dubai” Developmental Inventions Exhibition

The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has won two gold medals and one silver medal at the “DIS Expo” developmental inventions exhibition held in Dubai. The awards recognize innovative smart medical inventions designed to enhance healthcare quality and promote innovation in rehabilitation and physical therapy. The medals were earned through the participation of 18 students from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, who presented a range of medical innovations. A smart medical device designed for repositioning and mobilizing joints won a gold medal for its potential to support rehabilitation programs and accelerate patients’ functional recovery. Another innovation, the “Anorest” smart mattress, also received a gold medal for its contribution to user comfort and its ability to enhance therapeutic planning based on individual needs. Meanwhile, multifunctional augmented reality glasses designed for patients with Parkinson’s disease earned a silver medal, aiming to support patients, improve functional performance, and enhance quality of life. Dr. Hadeel Al-Saleh, Dean of the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, stated that the students’ participation and achievement represent a “remarkable international distinction demonstrating their ability to transform scientific knowledge into practical innovations that serve humanity and elevate the quality of healthcare.” This academic and research excellence reflects the college’s efforts to support research, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students in health-related fields, contributing to the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic plan through strengthening student presence in local and international forums and advancing excellence in teaching and learning.
