The College of Design and Arts at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University will organize tomorrow, Thursday, 4 December 2025, the “Nasq 14” exhibition to showcase nearly 30 graduation projects by students from the Sculpture Track of the Visual Arts Program and the Photography Program, at the college’s venue. The exhibition, which will run until 7 December 2025, features a diverse selection of works in the Sculpture Track of the Visual Arts Program that embody Saudi identity and reflect the students’ awareness of the human body and psyche, as well as the individual’s connection to place and interaction with society through various visual approaches. This year’s graduation projects in the Photography Program also present a rich variety of intellectual, aesthetic, and cultural themes that illustrate the depth of creative vision and visual awareness. The exhibition highlights a number of projects inspired by Saudi heritage—particularly traditional clothing, folk sayings, and local symbols—reimagined with a contemporary spirit. It also features works that focus on the relationship between humans and nature through clay, plants, and reflections, in addition to projects that emphasize artistic composition, food photography, and expressions of art and Arabic calligraphy using modern photographic techniques that blend authenticity and experimentation. The exhibition provides a space for interaction and communication between students and those interested in the field, contributing to the exchange of expertise, inspiration, and connecting students with labor-market needs and the realities of professional practice in both sculpture and photography. Dr. Nora Mohammed Al-Qabba’, Head of the Visual Arts Department at the College, explained that “this year’s exhibition presents an enhanced edition aligned with the ongoing development of the Visual Arts and Photography programs, with the aim of preparing students for artistic practice.” She added that “the exhibition seeks to empower students to engage in a complete experience—from preparing the artistic proposal in a research-based and experimental manner, to implementing the work with intellectual and technical awareness, and finally presenting it to the public as the student’s first step toward entering the professional art market.” The exhibition welcomes visitors from different segments of the community on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., while Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. is reserved for women, allowing them to explore the diverse artworks inspired by Saudi identity and discover creative models that embody heritage through a contemporary lens. The “Nasq 14” exhibition at the College of Design and Arts aligns with the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 Strategic Plan, contributing to the preparation of competitive talents and the qualification and support of students by providing an educational environment that fosters creativity and enhances culture, arts, innovation, and a spirit of learning—thus supporting women’s leadership in the development journey.
