Princess Nourah University Ranks Seventh Among Saudi Universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings

Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University ranked seventh locally and advanced into the (401–500) global category in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2026, achieving an upward trajectory since its first participation in the ranking in 2023. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is one of the most prominent international rankings, relying on a comprehensive methodology to assess university performance based on five main indicators: teaching quality, scientific research, research citations, international outlook, and industry income. The ranking includes (2,191) universities worldwide, of which (181) are Arab universities and (31) are Saudi universities. The advancement of Princess Nourah University in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings reflects the university’s continuous efforts to strengthen the scientific research ecosystem, attract international researchers to collaborate with the university, improve the quality of research output, and increase the number of international faculty members, contributing to the university’s presence within global ranking standards. It is noteworthy that the university has advanced (11) local positions since its first participation in the ranking in 2023, reflecting the continuity of its developmental progress, the efficiency of its academic programs, and the alignment of its research activities with development needs and global standards, in addition to enhancing its institutional reputation both locally and internationally. This global ranking aligns with Princess Nourah University’s strategic direction to contribute to achieving the goals of its Strategic Plan 2025, in terms of excellence and leadership in academic and research fields, and confirms its national role in contributing to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to place Saudi universities among the leading institutions globally.
