The College of Designs and Arts at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched the “Frame 2024” exhibition to showcase the graduation projects of the second cohort of the Filmmaking and Animation Program, comprising (26) students, within the Graduation Project course of the Department of Cinema and Theatre Arts. The exhibition continues until Thursday, 19 December 2024, at the College premises. The exhibition highlights seven short films with diverse titles and themes inspired by the Kingdom’s cultural identity, including: “A Recipe for Escape,” “Shula,” “Laylat Al-Hawwamah,” “Lost in Al-Dahna,” “Abu Fanous,” “Work Bag,” and “Remnant.” The exhibition contributes to demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and technical competencies acquired by graduates through their innovative filmmaking projects, following creative thinking methodologies and critical thinking skills. It also provides a space for interaction and networking among graduates, University students, employers, professionals, interested stakeholders, researchers, partners, the business sector, and the wider community, while preparing graduates to compete professionally in the job market and enter the world of entrepreneurship. The Head of the Department of Cinema and Theatre Arts, Dr. Haya bint Abdulrahman Al-Rashood, explained that the exhibition falls within the College’s efforts to qualify national talent by providing a supportive, creativity-driven environment, guided expertise, and scientifically oriented competencies, while keeping pace with labor-market needs, particularly in the film sector. “Frame 2024” aligns with the University’s Strategic Plan 2025 goals by contributing to the preparation of competitive competencies and supporting students through an educational environment that fosters creativity, culture and arts, a spirit of learning, research, and innovation, thereby supporting women’s leadership in national development.
