As part of the “Researcher’s Voice” initiative, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University concluded the Scientific Week entitled “Qualitative Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences”, with the aim of highlighting the use of qualitative research approaches in the humanities and social sciences and benefiting from their methods in pursuing indexed scholarly publishing in these fields. The event was held with the participation of faculty members and male and female researchers from inside and outside the University. The Scientific Week was organized remotely and included a series of workshops on “Qualitative Research,” “Research Procedures,” “The Five Designs of Qualitative Research,” and “Qualitative Data Analysis Based on Grounded Theory.” These workshops aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of the concept of qualitative research, highlight its scientific value, and provide practical applications of its use through several themes, including the characteristics of qualitative research, the qualitative researcher, qualitative research methodologies, and methodological procedures—from literature review to data analysis and results writing. It is noteworthy that “Researcher’s Voice” is a project launched by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to serve the community of researchers in literature and the humanities both inside and outside Princess Nourah University, by responding to research inquiries and providing research ideas. The Scientific Week falls within the College’s contributions to achieving the fourth objective of Princess Nourah University’s Strategic Plan 2025, which focuses on strengthening the ecosystem of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship by creating a supportive environment, achieving distinguished scientific publishing, and conducting studies and research linked to national development needs.
