Nature and Goals of the Program

Students will be familiar with the concepts, theories, and fundamental principles associated with the field of diagnostic imaging. They will be capable of effectively using modern technology and applying acquired theoretical knowledge to conduct diagnostic imaging examinations on patients accurately and safely, in various contexts. They will have critical, innovative, and creative thinking abilities, adapting to diverse environments through self-learning and participation in learning situations that encourage the development of professional competencies related to diagnostic imaging. They will also show leadership skills necessary for utilizing their intellectual capacities fully in different settings related to diagnostic imaging practice, being a good listener and clear communicator in healthcare and community service contexts. Additionally, they will adhere to professional performance standards and the code of ethics for the diagnostic imaging profession, taking responsibility for raising awareness in the community about the benefits and risks of radiation used in diagnostic imaging procedures.

1-To provide the graduate with the knowledge and skills needed to meet the requirements of national and international organizations that certify Diagnostic Imaging Specialists.
2-To enhance the graduate’s professional characteristics, communication and leadership skills which are needed for the high quality delivery of services within the field of Diagnostic Imaging.
3-To enable the graduate to contribute effectively in promoting health and radiation safety in the society.
4-To provide graduates with research skills needed to conduct research and form collaborations that develop the field of Diagnostic Imaging.

Knowledge and Understanding:
K1- Describe the basic concepts and theories related diagnostic imaging profession.
K2- Recognize clinical procedures methods essential for diagnostic imaging, health care services, and research.
Skills:
S1- Apply all the procedures to the practice of diagnostic profession in different settings.
S2- Relate the appearances of diagnostic images to the anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
S3- Solve diagnostic imaging problems and calculations using information technology and cognitive skills.
Values:
V1- Comply with professional characteristics of patient safety, group work, leadership, and social responsibilities needed in diagnostic imaging.

1-Knowledgeable of the basic concepts, theories and principles associated with the field of Diagnostic Imaging
2-Capable to use recent technology effectively as well as use the attained theoretical knowledge to perform Diagnostic Imaging examinations on a patient in an accurate, safe and timely manner in different contexts.
3-Critical, innovative and creative in response to different challenges related to Diagnostic Imaging profession.
4-Adaptable to different environments through self-learning and through participation in learning situations that encourage development of competencies and professional characteristics related to the Diagnostic Imaging profession.
