The Intermediate Diploma in Arabic Language for Non-Arabic Speakers is a comprehensive linguistic program designed for female learners whose first language is not Arabic. It consists of four progressive levels—Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Academic—and aims to prepare students seeking admission to one of Princess Nourah University’s colleges. In addition, it fosters the development of higher-order linguistic and cognitive skills, empowering learners to use Arabic with confidence and proficiency. The program has been developed in accordance with accredited quality standards and the latest research in second language teaching and learning. Its framework aligns with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) proficiency guidelines and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Delivered at the Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Arabic Speakers at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, the program holds distinctive significance as it is offered through the university’s global gateway for linguistic and cultural exchange.

Nature and Goals of the Program

This specialization aims to equip graduates with proficiency in the components and skills of Standard Arabic, listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and to enable them to use the language effectively in various contexts. It also seeks to familiarize them with the values of Arab-Islamic culture and promote coexistence with other cultures.
