Social Responsibility Unit:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the college's social responsibility programs through its three channels: (Responsible Project, Responsible Course, and Responsible Research) in coordination with the University's Social Responsibility and Sustainability Administration and the academic departments within the college.
  • Liaise with the University's Social Responsibility and Sustainability Administration to activate volunteer opportunities included in the approved volunteer work plan.
  • Offer a variety of community-based volunteer opportunities for students, faculty, and administrative staff, and ensure these opportunities are registered and approved on the National Volunteer Work Platform.
  • Supervise the volunteer team and opportunities to ensure their implementation according to the scheduled timeline.
  • Prepare volunteer activity statistics for the Applied College's students and staff at the end of each academic semester.
  • Submit reports on implemented volunteer opportunities to the Social Responsibility and Sustainability Administration and the Student Services Administration.
  • Monitor disciplinary decisions for students in violation of university regulations that require them to complete community service hours within the college.

    Conditions for Participation in Volunteer Opportunities
  • The volunteer must have an account on the National Volunteer Work Platform (https://nvg.gov.sa).
  • Volunteer hours will not be granted if the participant receives financial incentives, compensatory leave, or academic credit for the same opportunity.
  • The volunteer must register for the opportunity before the designated deadline.
  • The opportunity must be evaluated on the platform upon completion for the certificate to be issued.
