Nature and Goals of the Program

The program of the Diploma in Infection Control seeks the following objectives: - Qualifying technicians of infection control to work with high professionalism in health facilities and hospitals at the central departments of infection control. - Providing graduates with basic knowledge and applied skills in infection control. - Developing graduates' capabilities of individual and teamwork to qualify them for the labor market and community service. - Developing graduates' skills for lifelong learning to keep abreast of the developments in the field of infection control. - Enhancing graduates' capabilities to contribute towards developing

1. Provide female graduates with basic knowledge and practical skills in infection control.
2- Develop the capabilities of female graduates to work individually and collectively to qualify them for the labor market and community service.
3- Qualify infection control technicians to work with high professional competency in various health care settings.

Knowledge and Understanding
Identify basic concepts of human biology, pathology, microbiology and immunology, and infectious disease process
Describe principles of public health, and infection control in proper scientific language
Outline the principles and uses of infection prevention and control measures including sterilization and disinfection procedures
Skills:
Implement infection prevention and control strategies in different health care settings
Discuss etiology, modes of transmission, sources and epidemiology of infectious diseases including health care acquired infections
Manage the occupational and environmental risk of exposure to infectious diseases
Interpret the descriptive statistics in the infection control program
