The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University won the gold medal at the 15th edition of the “Middle East International Inventions Exhibition,” competing against approximately 250 inventions from 42 countries in diverse innovative and scientific fields. The college’s achievement was for a medical invention by several students called “Inorest,” a smart medical bed designed to meet patients’ needs. It features four innovative layers, advanced sensors to analyze body posture and vital functions, and control options via a smart screen or voice commands, enhancing comfort for both patients and caregivers. The college’s participation aimed to exchange knowledge and expertise, support research and creative capabilities, strengthen Saudi universities’ scientific presence, and convert innovative ideas into practical projects while providing opportunities for participants to connect with entrepreneurs, investors, and inventors globally. Dr. Madawi Al-Otaibi, Director of the Innovation Unit at the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, stated: “Princess Nourah University’s participation in the exhibition confirms the university’s commitment to supporting innovation and enhancing women’s role in research and development. We are proud of our students’ innovative achievements, reflecting excellence and creativity, and we hope this participation inspires further accomplishments locally and internationally.” The exhibition was held in Kuwait for four days and organized by the Kuwait Scientific Club, gathering inventors to showcase their innovations, exchange expertise, and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The college’s participation aligns with the university’s 2025 strategic plan by enhancing academic and research excellence, encouraging students’ participation in international platforms, providing a supportive research environment, and building bridges with the local and global community.
