About the unit

The Field Training Program is designed to equip students with practical knowledge, professional experience, and workplace skills through training in public and private sector organizations. Recognizing the importance of preparing graduates to meet labor market demands, the College of Science has incorporated Field Training into its academic curriculum to support students' professional development. The program bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application while providing students with the opportunity to discover their capabilities, explore their career interests, and gain a better understanding of the needs of the Saudi labor market.

This guide serves as a reference document to ensure outlining collaboration policies, expected outcomes, procedures, roles, and responsibilities to effective communication and cooperation among all stakeholders.

Field Training Program

The Field Training Program is a mandatory pre-graduation requirement that helps students develop professional competencies by integrating academic coursework with hands-on workplace experience. Students are placed in companies and organizations for a period of twenty weeks, enabling them to prepare for a professional work environment.

The program involves three main stakeholders:

Training Provider: A private company or government entity that offers training opportunities to students from the College of Science at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
College of Science: Representing Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and supervising the implementation and quality of the training program.
Student Trainee: A College of Science student seeking to complete her field training requirement.
Benefits of the Partnership

The collaborative partnership among these three stakeholders offers several mutual benefits, including:

  • Providing students with valuable employment opportunities through practical training, enabling them to gain the work experience necessary to compete successfully in the job market after graduation.
  • Enhancing the reputation and standing of the College of Science within the Saudi labor market by preparing graduates with the professional skills and competencies required by employers.
