About the Department

The Physics Department was established as part of the College of Basic Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in 1428 AH. It was previously part of the College of Education for Scientific Departments, which was founded in 1390 AH. The department oversees and manages several academic programs, offering two bachelor's degree programs: one in Physics and the other in Medical Physics. Additionally, it offers a Master of Science in Energy and Innovation in partnership with Swansea University, a multidisciplinary program in collaboration with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), focusing on promising energy tracks.
These programs aim to prepare scientifically and professionally specialized graduates to meet labor market needs and contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Graduates will be equipped to serve the community in various fields.
Furthermore, the department contributes to Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University's strategic goals by developing and introducing specialized programs that evolve with labor market demands, providing opportunities to empower women in all sectors.
The department also acknowledges the significant role of faculty members in enriching scientific research and community service.
