High-Impact Academic Practices (HIPs) are evidence-based educational practices that promote deep learning, improve student success, reduce achievement gaps, and enhance workforce readiness by actively engaging students in the learning process.
Recognizing the positive impact of HIPs on learning outcomes, academic quality, and graduate competitiveness, the Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs has introduced a dedicated performance indicator to measure the adoption and effective implementation of these practices across academic programs. The initiative supports the university's strategic goals by promoting the systematic integration of HIPs into teaching and learning.

High-Impact Academic Practices (HIPs):
HIPs are organized into four main domains, each encompassing a range of educational models and approaches. Academic programs are encouraged to implement one or more practices from each domain to create a comprehensive learning experience, enhance learning outcomes, and better prepare students for future careers.

Interactive Teaching and Learning Practices
This domain focuses on student-centered teaching approaches that actively engage students in the learning process. These practices are designed to develop practical skills, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, collaboration, and effective communication. They include:
- Project-Based Learning
A teaching approach in which students complete an authentic project that addresses a real-world challenge or scenario, enabling them to apply knowledge and skills from multiple disciplines throughout the project. - Problem-Based Learning
An educational practice that presents learners with complex, real-world problems to analyze and solve, fostering critical thinking, independent learning, and innovative problem-solving. - Interdisciplinary Learning

Internationalization Practices
Internationalization practices enrich students' educational experiences by exposing them to diverse learning environments, innovative teaching approaches, and global academic perspectives.
