The Vice Deanship of Academic Affairs at the College of Pharmacy is one of the key pillars in achieving the vision and mission of the college. It is responsible for developing educational programs in accordance with the highest scientific and professional standards, and monitoring the progress of the educational process.

It also ensures the implementation of regulations and quality systems within the college, contributing to continuous improvement in education and achieving excellence in teaching and learning. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Leading the development of academic programs and assessing learning outcomes.
  • Monitoring the quality of education, maintaining quality  and academic accreditation standards.
  • Ensuring the implementation of the executive regulations and rules of the university.
  • Managing the academic affairs departments and reviewing their progress reports.
  • Coordinating the Academic Affairs committees and submitting related reports, such as the Equivalency, Excuses and Underachieving Students Committees. 

 

Departments and Units

Educational Affairs Administration

The Educational Affairs Administration oversees student registration and course schedules, examinations, academic advising, reporting and monitors the Underachieving Students and Equivalency Committees.

Quality of Teaching and Learning Administration

The Quality and Academic Accreditation Department ensures accreditation compliance, curriculum and learning outcomes development, quality assurance and continuous improvement of academic programs.

Laboratories and Learning Resources Administration

The Laboratories and Learning Resources Department oversees laboratory management, library services, learning resources updates and educational technologies.

E-Learning Unit

 The E-Learning Unit is responsible for monitoring e-learning programs and courses, promoting awareness of e-learning, providing technical support and preparing periodic reports to activate e-learning and enhance practices.

Graduate Programs Administration

Graduate Programs Administration seeks to oversee postgraduate affairs and ensure that all requirements are met in accordance with the regulations governing postgraduate studies in universities. It also coordinates with academic departments, follows up on academic procedures, develops new postgraduate programs and specializations, and enhances existing programs

Research and Innovation Unit

The Research and Innovation Unit is responsible for advancing the quality of scientific research, promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and creating a supportive research environment. It also organizes seminars and workshops, develops research skills and capacities.

 

Business and Project Management office

Business and Project Management office at the college seeks to develop self-generated resources, invest in the college's assets, leverage specialized expertise, conduct feasibility studies for future projects, and monitor project performance in alignment with the strategic plan.

The Training and Clinical Affairs Administration supervises field and clinical training of internship. In addition, it oversees the affairs of practicing faculty at King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital, facilitates obtaining professional licenses and monitors the performance of health services provided by the college at the university hospital. Moreover, it contributes to organizing educational programs that support the training of interns and practitioners, oversees the academic honorary titles committee, organizes annual meetings with training partners and the Scientific Research Day for the College of Pharmacy.

Training and Internship Administration  

The Training and Internship administration supervises the training of students during the internship year and ensures suitable training placements for students in hospitals, pharmaceutical agencies and companies and community pharmacies. It also oversees administrative arrangements related to training rotations including training schedules, supervisor evaluation of students and site visits.

Practice and Professional Licenses Unit 

The unit is responsible for coordinating the clinical practice of faculty members in King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital and monitoring their professional licensing status and classifications with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. It also organizes continuing medical education (CME) courses, including accredited hours approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

The Student Services Administration oversees the services and programs that support students at the College of Pharmacy, including student activities and programs, competitions and volunteer work, student support services, psychological and social counseling, and services provided to students with disabilities, in addition to supporting career and professional development and overseeing alumni affairs. The Administration also supports the orientation of new students, follows up on students' needs, inquiries, and suggestions, and coordinates with relevant entities within the College and University to provide and develop appropriate services.

• Student Activities and Programs

Responsible for organizing and overseeing extracurricular activities and events through the Pharmacy Club, including cultural, social, awareness, and recreational programs, competitions, conferences, and student trips, as well as supporting student initiatives and talents and the Manarat Al-Saydalah Magazine, contributing to enriching students' university experience and participation.

 

• Psychological and Social Counseling

Provides psychological and social support to students, assists them with their needs throughout their university journey, and directs them to relevant services and entities when needed.

 

• Student Support

Provides support services to students and follows up on their needs, including student locker services, in addition to supporting student services related to rights, permits, and university ID cards in accordance with approved procedures.

 

• Alumni

Supports College alumni through establishing and updating alumni databases, strengthening communication with alumni, and participating in the organization of the annual alumni ceremony and related programs.
