A team from the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences won first place

A team from the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University won first place in one of the branches of the Ministry of Health Award for Health Volunteering in its fourth session 2022 AD, coinciding with the International Volunteer Day, aiming to honor the owners of volunteer initiatives and efforts in the health sector.

   The "Heroes" project achieved first place in the creative ideas track within the award's tracks, for female students of the Occupational Therapy Program: Shahd Al-Barrak, Munira Al-Thukair, Nora Al-Shehri, in Al-Biz, and their supervisor, Dr. Safaa Al-Khouli, and it is a project that aims to integrate children of the autism spectrum into society through activities.  physical.

    The results of the "Champions" project contribute to reducing the costs of treatment and health rehabilitation programs provided in the long term, by reducing diseases and problems associated with autism spectrum disorder, which limit their integration into society: such as obesity, chronic diseases, communication disorders, and poor social, sensory and motor skills.

    The action plan in the participating project focuses on the three levels: the individual, society, and policies, which were approved based on scientific studies and research.

    This participation comes out of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University's keenness to prepare competitive outputs that contribute to community service, and participate in the prosperity of the country and the development of the global economy.​
