The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences participates in the 14th edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions in the Middle East

The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University participated in the Fourteenth International Exhibition of Inventions in the Middle East, which was held in the State of Kuwait.  As a forum for inventors, creators, and investors.

    The college won the bronze award for its participation in inventing (a rehabilitation device for lower limb amputees), presented by Dr. Madawi Al-Otaibi, from the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and Dr. Alaa Muhammad, from the College of Designs and Arts.  This took place amid competition from more than 200 inventors, representing more than 40 Arab and foreign countries.

    The device was designed with innovative technologies aimed at strengthening the lower part of the body and improving balance and walking for lower limb amputees, including the award criteria of novelty of the idea, manufacturing and marketing capability, and impact on society.

    The innovation includes an electric treadmill and a patient carrier, supported by artificial intelligence and augmented reality technologies, through the availability of a camera screen that tracks movement, facial expression sensors, and foot sensors to measure the load rate, in addition to a balance board for balance exercises, stairs for ascending and descending exercises, and kicking balls.  For strengthening and balance exercises.

    Participation comes within the efforts of the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences to contribute to achieving the strategic goals of Princess Noura bint Abdul Rahman University 2025, by providing a supportive academic environment for faculty members, building bridges of communication with the local and global community, an influential international presence, and supporting the research and innovation system.
