College of Science Organizes a Visit to King Khalid Royal Reserve to Enhance Scientific and Practical Knowledge

The College of Science at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, in collaboration with the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority, organized a field scientific trip for female students to the King Khalid Royal Reserve on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The trip aimed to enhance students' scientific and practical knowledge and raise awareness about the environment. The visit aimed to link academic knowledge with field applications and expose students to desert ecosystems and biodiversity, contributing to raising environmental awareness and sustainable practices in environmental protection and development. The program of the trip included an introductory field visit, where students had the opportunity to experience an educational activity, understand the mechanisms of conserving natural resources, learn about biodiversity and desert ecosystems, and engage in responsible field tourism practices. It also focused on understanding the role of nature reserves in protecting the environment, promoting the green economy, and improving quality of life. Dr. Arwa Al-Haqil, a faculty member and Professor of Environmental Science in the Biology Department at the college, explained that "this visit reflects a real integration between the academic and environmental sectors. It aims to prepare scientific cadres capable of supporting the Kingdom's sustainability goals and instilling the concept of environmental responsibility and national belonging in the next generation." She added that "investing in applied knowledge is the cornerstone of transforming global events into sustainable learning experiences." This initiative is part of the efforts of the College of Science at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to contribute to achieving the university's strategic plan goals. It supports the education system linked to development and prepares knowledgeable female leaders capable of innovation and active participation in serving the community and achieving national sustainability.
