Students of the College of Computer and Information Sciences Participate in the Summer Training Program at Cardiff University, UK

A group of students from the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University participated in the Summer Training Program in Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence, organized by Cardiff University in the United Kingdom, from July 27 to August 2, 2025. The participation aimed to enhance knowledge exchange and cultural communication between universities, provide the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in artificial intelligence, and train on its various applications. It also sought to equip the students with practical experience and raise their academic competencies. The program included a series of intensive workshops and hands-on training that enabled the students to apply theoretical knowledge to innovative technological projects simulating real-world challenges. It also featured a tour of Cardiff University’s campus, visits to the library, research centers, and laboratories, as well as the Entrepreneurship Center — with the goal of enhancing knowledge in innovation and entrepreneurship, and refining practical skills and expertise. The training program offered the students the opportunity to explore the latest advanced technologies used in Cardiff University’s laboratories and to become acquainted with global developments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, and natural language processing. Additionally, the students met with prominent international experts in technology to discuss the latest research and innovations driving digital transformation worldwide. Dr. Manal Al-Ohali, Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, stated that “this participation reflects the college’s commitment to empowering its students to acquire advanced global experiences in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a knowledge- and innovation-based digital economy”. This participation also reflects the college’s efforts to contribute to achieving the goals of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025, which seeks to strengthen skills, knowledge, and values, achieve excellence in teaching and learning, and prepare qualified national cadres.
