Overview

​The College of Languages was established upon the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques via directive No. 8626 dated 27/9/1428 AH. The college was restructured and new programs were created to fulfill the needs of the society and the labor market developments. A consent was reached to form a special committee in this regard by Royal Decree No. (61568) dated 9/12/1436 AH. The college was named the College of Languages, and it includes three departments: Department of Translation (English and French programs), Department of English Literature and Cultural Studies, and Department of Applied Linguistics by a decision of the Council of Ministers on 14/2/1437 AH. The Department of Asian Languages was established afterward. The college currently has four academic departments: Department of TranslationDepartment of Applied LinguisticsDepartment of English Literature and Cultural StudiesDepartment of Asian Languages These four departments include (5) academic programs for bachelor's degrees: Bachelor's Program in Translation (English Language)Bachelor's Program in Translation (French Language)Bachelor's Program in Applied LinguisticsBachelor's Program in English Literature and Cultural StudiesBachelor's Program in Chinese Language There are four postgraduate programs: Master's Program in Specialized Translation (from English into Arabic and vice versa)Master's Program in Specialized Translation (from French into Arabic and vice versa)Higher Diploma Program in Tourism (in the English Language)Higher Diploma Program in Tourism (in the French Language) At the College of Languages, we are proud to offer competitive education that revolves around multilingualism, cultural differences and values of global citizenship reflected in the college's programs.
